Schengen rights

The information system of Schengen (SIS) is an information system on a large scale that facilitates cooperation between national authorities border control, customs and police in the so-called Schengen Area.

As a complement the information system SIS is the visa information system (VIS) that allows the competent authorities to implement the common policy of visas on short-term visas (up to 90 days).

The rules governing the system VIS recognizes the right of citizens affected the exercise of rights of access, rectification and deletion, as well as certain limitations to them.
